   ”Mmm, Talos IV. Yeah.”

[Rory’s sure that sooner or later someone would realise he wasn’t meant to be on board the ship. There would be some bit of fairly standard information that he’d have no clue about, or maybe the lack of uniform would tip them off. For now, he’d continue pretending to know exactly what everyone was talking about. Right. The Talosian Singing Plant. Exactly.] 

[But he was definitely more than a little impressed by the plant, which showed clearly in his expression.]

            “It’s impressive, isn’t it? My favorite part about the plant is how is seizes up and stops singing once it’s touched as a defensive mechanism.”

    [ To illustrate the point, he gently taps one of the blue hue soaked leaves causing the plant to silence itself the moment he made contact. His hand curls back to his side as the smile never seemed to fade from Hikaru’s features. ]

 "..I’m sorry. That was probably a little bit more than you’d care to know about the plant.“

    “Ah— yeah. The flowers, they’re— something.”

           [Play it cool, Williams.]

  “What’s this one called?”

    [He nodded towards the plant he was closest to. It was one he didn’t recognise, not that Rory considered himself much of an expert.]

       [ His mouth curls into an almost overly pleased smile at the gesture toward the plant. It just so happened to be one of his favorite. Not that Hikaru played favorites or anything. ]

    [ Sulu is careful to keep his hands to himself as he leaned closer to the plant and blew softly onto it, letting the flora produce a soft chime as air passed over it. ]
